Saab Suite. How did I not know about this glorious culmination of wit, class, and driving skill? Wow. Seriously—watch it!

This brought up so much for me. Thanks for the posting. Stop reading if you don't need someone else's random memories.
The Saab 9000 Turbo I last drove was in NJ in the 80's. The owner let me drive it but only if I didn't use the clutch. The tranny was flawless, and even though I hadn't done it before, the shifts were brilliantly fine. 3AM on the NJ turnpike was an excellent place to play back then.
Watching this video, I got reminded of two other things. The first was that in the 80's, the CA Highway Patrol didn't have radar - they could only pace. Cars that had flat hoods in lane maneuvers were racers or cops, unlike the cars in this video. Racers were in front of you, so cops.
Second, the in-lane skid recovery reminded me of my training at Sears Point Raceway, but only on the skid pad there. Never had to use that on dry road (to my benefit.) But I sure can appreciate it on dry road.
